Private Wives are a fierce all-girl punk band from Wollongong, NSW, delivering raw, unfiltered energy with every release and every stage they step onto. Armed with snarling guitars, pounding drums and vocals that cut straight to the bone, their sound is loud, urgent and unapologetically real. Channeling frustration, defiance and hard-won self-belief, Private Wives craft anthems for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked or underestimated.
In January, they released their long-awaited debut album THREE OF SWORDS, a blistering ten-track statement exploring heartbreak, rage and reclamation. Inspired by the piercing clarity of its tarot namesake, the record transforms pain into power, balancing chaos and catharsis with striking honesty. Recorded with Jason Whalley (Frenzal Rhomb), mixed by Mo Mayhem and mastered by Mikey Young, the album captures the intensity of their live show while sharpening their message into something both confrontational and cathartic.
Following a run of powerful singles and a national tour in support of the release, Private Wives have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most vital emerging punk voices. Now, as they dive into writing new material, the band are building on the momentum of THREE OF SWORDS and continuing to carve their place in the country’s punk landscape, louder and more fearless than ever.
