WHAT TO EXPECT
An evening of top-shelf original live music, accompanied by our world-class pizza menu and licensed bar. And we are so excited for what lays ahead! With a couple more shows to be announced, it seems we have some incredible guest’s joining us this Summer.
Dashville Nights shows generally coincide with our Hunter Tent Stay operation, which means weekend long camping is generally available across these weekends.
All shows are ticketed with camping and non-camping options.

For those new to the Dashville experience, prepare for ease and comfort. This is the kind of superior live music experience where you can roll in with your evening accommodation, pick your camp spot, let the kids loose, enjoy an easy beverage and dinner which rolls into a super relaxing live music experience, where you can then hit the pillow and wake up in serenity, and wander down to a freshly cooked hot brekky with the birds.

CHAICHESTER + ALBATROSS
CHAICHESTER - aka Pat Truscott grew up fast in a military family, moving from city to city throughout most of his early life. It was while living near an air force base in Malaysia, that he first picked up a guitar and started writing songs. Having grown up “on the run” as he puts it, spending a year or two in a city before being posted to another with his family; finding a sense of belonging was tricky as a young person. Though music soon became solid ground, a place to tell stories, a safe space to find meaning, a true home.
Learning the ropes to songwriting came from listening to his parents and grandparents cd collections, from James Taylor and Jeff Buckley to Johnny Cash and Bee-Gees.
Eventually settling in the “steel city” of Newcastle, Australia as a teenager - “Chaichester” (based on peaceful memories made near the Chichester dam in the Hunter Valley) set its roots amongst the drones of the port city. Releasing a first single in late 2022, and a self titled, self produced, and self mixed 5 track EP the following year. 2024 saw a tirade of singles as the music was slowly refined.
With a fast growing fanbase and over 1 million streams online, Chaichester has made a home amongst Newcastle’s many pubs, theatres, and festivals with a dynamic live show with his 5 piece band. 2025 saw the debut of Chaichester at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, making an instant impression on the local audiences in the country music capital.
ALBATROSS - is a Sydney-based band delivering a richly cinematic blend of original music inspired by 60s/70s Folk, Country, Latin, and classic Film soundtracks. Their sound is nostalgic yet fresh, weaving intricate arrangements with evocative songwriting. At the heart of Albatros are core songwriters Sean van Doornum and Ben Hauptmann. Sean is an award-winning film and theatre composer whose international career has included years in New York, where he collaborated widely and developed his distinctive musical voice. Ben is a renowned guitarist and winner of the 2010 Freedman Jazz Fellowship. His impressive performance history includes collaborations with Australian greats such as Gurrumul Yunupingu, Paul Kelly, James Morrison, Vika & Linda Bull, and Katie Noonan. The band’s lineup features a collective of esteemed musicians: James Hauptmann (drums), Ben Kidson (percussion), Nick Hoorweg (bass/vocals), Harry Sutherland (keys), and Ollie Thorpe (pedal steel guitar). Together, they bring a dynamic depth and polish to the group’s textured, melodic sound. Albatros recently released two new singles, The Lookout and Half Moon, via indie label Rice & Beans Records. Their music captures both the intimacy of a story well told and the vast emotional landscapes of the genres that inspire them.
Dashville Nights is a ticketed and fully licensed event (NO BYO) held in the Dashville arena and goes hand in hand with our Friday Night Pizza Night as well as our Hunter Tent Stay. Camping is included in the main ticket, however there is also a non-camping ticket option should you wish to come for the show and not stay the night.
Locals please note: if you're hungry and don’t want to stay for the music, you’re welcome to come in to Dashville and order take away pizza on the night. But we reckon you should just chuck the swag in and stay the night, wake up amongst the gum trees, and let the morning birds carry you to a relaxing Dashville breakfast.
