Born from the swampland of Wallsend, Newcastle comes the debut album “Ä” from Fähm. (pronounced FAM). Featuring an ensemble of demented souls seeking refuge in debaucherous sounds , with members from Huckleberry & the Devil’s Dandruff, the Howlin’ Rats, Paper Thin, Sandpaper/the Not Nots, the Outliers … this project is definitely greater than its parts. Having already supported the likes of Bob Log III, Jenny Don’t & the Spurs, Neptune Power Federation, Seedy Jeezus , their throw back pre grunge Oz influences are there to behold . Harking back to sounds and tones familiar to the ears of the Scientists, Butcher Shop/ Beasts of Bourbon, Feedtime, X, Gun Club, the Stooges all with a captivating frontman that sounds like Tom Waits or Beefheart after a snack of gravel … their debut is released via the Newcastle independent label Hiss & Crackle Records, based out the record emporium of the same name, where the album was also recorded + mixed by Hiss … then mastered by Dave Forcier. A killer combo of punk n blues!
