The Nundle Five is a vintage rock ‘n’ Roll band, steeped in that classic Memphis Blues driving beat that created a sound that changed the world. Then added into the mix was a fist full of St Louis blues and a hot blistering amp full of Chicago House Rockin’ Blues with a pinch of Creole in that magic era between the late 40’s to the late 50’s.
The hard driving Boogie Woogie piano of the Barrel Houses and Juke Joints of old, mixed with the blistering electric guitar and bass of the new age all held together by a hard driving drum beat of the Rhythm and Blues scene. All blended together to make a very spicy Gumbo.
You half expect to hear Rufus Thomas Jnr of Allen Freed to be back announcing the songs while Sam Phillips yells out “Now that’s a hit!”
…and there’s gunna be some dancin’ goin’ on.
