COL RAY PRICE

Col Ray Price promo pic

Col Ray Price has been off and on the road now for over 30 years and has covered a lot of ground both in distance and musical styles.

One of his bands (The Scary Cats) was proud to be one of the very few blues / roots music acts in Australia to have had  a corporate sponsor Woodstock Black Label Bourbon. Woodstock Bourbon gave them that touch of credibility that was needed for an alternative act in a mainstream market. The sponsorship ended in 2004.

Col Ray Price has received lots of support from radio stations on the Australian East Coast however it is Europe where things got interesting. The greatest reviews came from South America and Northern Europe in the 2000s. Especially  Argentina and Denmark where Col Ray Price charted well for a brief moment. His albums also receive airplay in North America in the USA and Canada to this day.

Col Ray Price has a long history with the Australian blues music scene with one of Col Rays first bands being Metro Blues Band that was started back in the late 70s in Melbourne Australia. In the 70s and 80s Col Ray has worked with people such as Dave (Spike) Edwards (GTV Show Band Channel 9), Brian Cavalier and Terry Symes of the Zodiacs.

In more recent years Col Ray has worked with acts such as The Flaming Beauties, LA Cruisers and Finn (Sydney), The Swamp Legends and The Urban Gypsies..

Col Ray Price has 10 albums. Two live and eight studio, all independent releases. His last 6 albums and is available on over 150 platforms and distributed through the CD Baby label.

All in all the he has an earthy honest sound that people can relate to, grass roots music, described by some as "Hillbilly Punk Blues" to “House Rockn’ Blues”. Or more recent. Hill Country Blues blended with Chicago House Rocking Blues and Deep Blues.
