Butterknife has joined Slowly Slowly on their regional tour in 2022, supported acts including Teenage Dads and Ra Ra Viper on their shows in Newcastle, and secured a slot on the lineup for Groovin the Moo 2023 in Maitland and Central Coast's 2023 Rolling Sets Festival. In contrast to their early indie-bedroom pop efforts, Butterknife's most recent records, "Deathwish" and "God Complex," mark a sonic shift in the band's musical direction by leaning more towards grunge/pop rock. Butterknife's live set integrates both of these polarising genres to showcase the dynamic range of their high energy performances.
